Outcome & Impact

I really enjoyed the process of working on this final project of NM3217 Principles of Visual Communication Design. I combined and applied the graphic design skills I learned throughout the semester on this brand style guide, and receiving A for this module was the best reward !

NM3217 was a competitive class to get in and I remembered bidding for this class for three semesters until I finally got in. It was a class that I had no regrets taking. My instructor, Roe Curie was patient in teaching and always offer new insights to me, spotting design flaws that I didn’t notice in her feedback. Kai En was another phenomenal lecturer who put in 200% of his time and effort in creating and teaching this course (love his lectures, they were so fun and engaging). Their passion in design influenced me to be more observant in little details in life.

Although I do not see myself pursuing graphic design or UI/UX after graduation, I still find that having an eye for design help me to bear the users in mind when designing products or models.

Instructor Feedback :

Amazing work, Li Hui! Your brand style guide is very comprehensive, with fitting explanations and guidelines that are detailed throughout the guide. Your commentary was also such an enjoyable read, and I really appreciate the amount of thought you have put into this final project. The time and effort you have put into this has definitely reaped its rewards, as your overall brand has a very coherent visual look that still has various points of visual interest wherever appropriate.

Your logo is sleek, professional and approachable, with clearly explained guidelines. I also love how you used the key geometric shapes of your brand to create some visual interest in both the name card and resume - which are both very well laid out with great readability, visual hierarchy and visual flow! Great work overall! - Roe Curie
