Survival Skills Vietnam SEO Project

ssvn project preview

Overview

Survival Skills Vietnam(SSVN) started as an educational business that provides first-aid courses. During COVID-19 period, they invested in an LMS to allow people to learn first aid for free at anywhere and anytime. As part of the GoodHub SEA tech volunteer, I worked in the SSVN project as a project manager.

Main Challenges

  • Understanding of SEO fundamental concepts like keyword research, content optimisation and site structure.
  • Integrating SEO with existing content strategies and aligning them with SSVN’s business goal.
  • Coordinate with an international team with temmates from Singapore, London and USA; main difficulty in tasks scheduling and meeting arrangement due to timezone difference.

My Contributions

  • I worked with two founders of GoodHub (Charles and Joanne), a SEO specialist (Shi Yun) and another NUS student (Van Binh) who is fluent in Vietnamnese on this SEO project for three months.
  • My main responsibility was to assign tasks, set milestones, review deliverables and plan the next steps in the project.
  • Together with Shi Yun, I researched, collated and presented SEO strategies to the team and SSVN founder.

Outcome & Impact

  • SSVN accepted our proposal and tested out the strategies with A/B testing. They claimed to see a 30% increase in page loading speed and SEO score of C to B.
  • I learned various techniques in SEO optimization (research and consulting our SEO specialist) and also project management skills, mentored by two GoodHub SEA founders who are product managers by profession.
